Step 1: Change Battery to "Unrestricted"
By default, Android optimizes apps to save battery, which kills their background connection.
Find the app you want notifications from (like Fiverr or WhatsApp) on your home screen.
Long-press (press and hold) the app icon until a menu pops up, then tap App Info (or the small "i" icon).
Scroll down and tap on Battery (on some phones, this is under Battery usage).
Change the setting from Optimized or Restricted to Unrestricted.
This tells Android: "Never put this app to sleep, even if the screen is off."
Step 2: Enable "Unrestricted Data Usage"
When the screen turns off, Android limits background data. You need to give the app permission to use data all the time.
Staying in that same App Info menu, tap on Mobile Data (or Data Usage).
Turn ON the toggle for Allow background data usage.
Turn ON the toggle for Allow data usage while Data saver is on (or Unrestricted data usage).
Step 3: Turn Off "Adaptive Battery"
Android has a global setting that tries to guess which apps you aren't using and shuts them down in the background.
Open your main phone Settings.
Search for Battery or Battery Care.
Look for Adaptive Battery or Background Usage Limits and turn it OFF.
(If you are using a Samsung, Xiaomi, or Realme phone, look for a section called "Never Auto-Sleep Apps" inside the battery menu and manually add your freelance/chat apps there).
Step 4: Keep Wi-Fi Connected During Sleep
Some phones turn off the Wi-Fi chip completely a few minutes after the screen goes dark to save juice.
Open your phone Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi (or Internet).
Look for Wi-Fi Preferences or Advanced Settings.
Ensure that any setting like "Turn off Wi-Fi during sleep" is turned OFF, or ensure Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is set to Always.
